503 error in CQD Portal

It is possible that you have this problem at any time.

Sometimes CQD Portal can be in error with error code 503 service unavailable.

Well, sometimes you need to install certain applications with privilege users that, for enterprise policies, it can’t have a password thar never expires. This is a very high problem to our administration, but sometimes we can’t fight with the Security Policy of the Company.

In this hand, it is possible that you find this problem at any time


This error will be following by a IIS event like this:


And then, you will finded the QoEPortal Application Pool disabled:


Ok, so this problem can appear by a user and password problem. Did you change your password a few days ago? It can be the problem.

To solve this issue you can following the next steps (it’s Easy):

Go to the IIS Administration Portal, next go to Application Pools and then select QoEPortal pool and clic on right button, then select Advanced Settings:


Now, below Process Model menu select Identity and clic on suspensive points


In the new window, clic en SET and introduce the new password.


After that, apply all settings and restart the pool, if it is necessary realize a IIS Reset.

Well… It’s magical!s CQD Portal works once more time!

How to use Call Quality Methodology (CQM)

What’s CQM?

CQM is the response of your Prayers. Most mushrooms that you can find in your platform can have a sense thanks to Call Quality Methodology.

This tool help you to obtain full statistics of your stream sessions. You can to obtain statistics from Call Quality, bad devices, bad streams, user rates, and more. It is a great tool (THANK YOU MICROSOFT!)

Now I explain you some instructions that you can follow to deploy the tool in your platform.

First, you may download the tool from here.

The tool is just a Powershell Script that obtain data from SQL Server, It doesn’t touch anything, doesn’t modify anything.So you can save it on any computer or server in you network. I recommend to save it on a computer that you use for remote management. Instead you can save it on your SQL Server if you want (remember,the tool doesn’t modify anything, it is safe).

When you will have it into a directory on your machine (for instance E:\CSResources), you can start using the tool.

You will have the following files and folders (all of them are important).


As you can see, you will have an excel named “Microsoft Call Quality Methodology Scorecard for Skype for Business Server v15”, be patient, this file is not important now. You can use it after you get the information.

Ok, so now you need to open a Windows Powershell. Browse to CQM directory
Next, you need to known what date format you have into your SQL. To known it, you need to execute “getSQLDateFormat.ps1” script typing your SQL Instance.

Next, you can to obtain data with the other script CQM.ps1. You will need to type the first day that you want to collect data. after that, you need to indicate to the script the instance as the same mode as you typed it on “getSQLDateFormat.ps1”.


After CQM have collected data you can look up it at “Results” directory. Similar as the following

Inside the folder, you can see all querys discovered.


Ok, Firsts steps are over. Now you need to ordenate the information. How you can sort this data?

Now you need to open “Microsoft Call Quality Methodology Scorecard for Skype for Business Server v15” after that, you need to allow macros and enable editing. When you have complete this steps you should have an excel as the following:

Next step is to import CQM Query Results, to do that you need click on “import CQM Query Results” and then search the exported folder that you type on CQM.ps1 (DataRoot option)
As you can see, more than one tab are available now, for example “Endpoint_0_Device”,”Endpoint_1_system”, …

Next step is to generate all informs. “stream Distribution Charts”, “Trending charts”, “Reliability Charts” and “Top issues”. If you have follow all steps correctly, you must have an inform as the following:

Updating CU Lync 2013 – AudioCodes SBA (Step-By-Step)

Hello guys!

I think that you know how to install a Microsoft Lync 2013 Cumulative Update on any Lync server but, Do you know how to install a cumulative update on an Audiocodes SBA?

To install a cumulative update on an Audiocodes SBA, you have two ways to do it: First, you can contact with your Audiocodes provider and he could (or could not) provide you the binaries to update the system (or wait many times for a response). Or second, you can install as another FE server. It is simple. On the topology, you registered this machine as an SBA, so the wizard only install the binaries that the SBA needs (Registrar and mediation).

Download “lyncserverupdateinstaler.exe” from the appropriate Microsoft Library. If you need some help, perhaps this link could be useful for you:


Now, connect to your SBA with Terminal Services and execute wizard (with elevated privileges). As you can see, the wizard shows only the components that it is required and/or were not updated:


Next step, click on install updates and keep calm.


When install process have finished, you can see a summary in the CMD console.


After that, you can check logs in the “lyncserverupdateinstaler.exe” directory.


Then, if it is needed, restart the machine, if it isn’t needed…. anyway, please restart the machine. It is a best practices. Remember do that when you can. It means that, if you have a production infrastructure, You should to realize the changes, after business hours.

If the process is completed correctly, you will have a Lync 2013 Updated on an Audiocodes SBA.
